There are many native bees and wasps in the park to watch out for. These are beneficial insects. Both bees and wasps pollinate the plants, and wasps prey on other bugs.

Blue-banded Bee (Amegilla)
These ‘buzz pollinate’ plants by ‘shivering’ inside flowers.
Euryglossa Bee (Euryglossa sp)
These could be mistaken for ants, but they fly from flower to flower
Orange spider wasp (Cryptocheilus bicolor) These wasps capture spiders and lay their eggs inside them. They also pollinate flowers
Reed Bee (Exoneura sp) Another little native bee you can see in the warmer months
Cream-spotted Ichneumon Wasp (Echthromorpha intricatoria) This wasp does not sting so you can have a close look
Thread-waisted Wasp (Family Sphecidae)
You will find this wasp feeding on nectar and flowers
